Privacy notice

Who we are
Wealtho is a personal money app. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use it, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
If anything here is unclear, email support@wealtho.app and a person will answer.
What we collect
When you open an account: your full name, date of birth, gender, phone number and email address.
To verify who you are, as the law requires before you can transfer money: your Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identification Number (NIN) and your residential address.
We check your BVN and NIN against the official records. We keep the result of the check, not the numbers.
If you choose to add them: a profile photo and cover pictures for goals or pooled savings groups.
When you use the app: your buckets, seals, transfers, contributions, goals and the record of every movement of money. These are the account itself.
From your phone: the device model and operating system version, an install identifier we generate, and, only if you switch notifications on, a push notification token.
Your PIN is stored only as a one-way hash. If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint sign-in, the PIN is kept in your phone's secure hardware and never leaves the device.
Why we use it
To run your account: opening it, moving money where you tell us to, showing you balances and history, and sending the notifications you asked for.
To meet the law: identity verification, record keeping, and preventing fraud and money laundering. These are legal obligations, not choices.
To keep the service safe: spotting unusual activity, locking an account after repeated wrong PINs, and fixing problems when the app fails.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Korapay, our licensed payment partner, to open the account number that receives your money and to send transfers.
Paystack, if you link a card or bank account for Autosave, to take the payments you set up.
Mono, to check your BVN and NIN against the official records, confirm account names and list banks.
Termii, our text message provider, to send you one-time codes.
Google, to write the words of your monthly review. It receives your amounts and the names you gave your buckets and goals. It does not receive your name, phone number, email, BVN or NIN.
Sentry, to report app crashes. It receives technical details of the crash, not your personal details.
Regulators, law enforcement and courts, when the law requires it.
Each of these partners is bound to protect your information and may only use it for the purpose we gave it to them for.
Our servers, and some of these partners, are outside Nigeria. When your information leaves Nigeria, we protect it as the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires: it is encrypted, and the partner is bound by contract to protect it.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, for as long as you use it.
After you delete your account, your name, contact details, address and photos are removed. Records of transactions are kept for the period Nigerian financial law requires, attached to an anonymised account, and then deleted.
Your rights
You can see the information we hold about you in the app, and correct your details from the menu.
You can delete your account from Menu, then Account, then Delete my account, once any money has been moved out.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@wealtho.app.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
How we protect it
Personal details are encrypted where they are stored. The connection between the app and our servers is encrypted and pinned to named certificate authorities, so a tampered network cannot read or change it.
Access to customer information inside Wealtho is limited to people who need it to do their job. Every time staff open your record, it is recorded with who opened it and when.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
